John 13. "Renew a Right Spirit" Sunday April 8, 2018, 11am

Jesus, teaches us, two great lessons, in the first part of John 13, about renewing, a right spirit and humility, that creates a servant, for all.

Jesus teaches us we do not have to be born again more than once. Once we are sure that we have been born again, Jesus tells us we are saved forever, if we believe until the end. Matthew Mt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

However, as the dirt (sin), comes upon us, we have to cleanse, that sin from our life, by prayer for forgiveness, and seeking the leadership of the Holy Spirit. It is, through prayer, Bible study, that we find strength, to renew a right spirit, with in us.

When Jesus, washed their feet, he was, teaching humility, which allows us, to be a good servant. Jesus, was and is, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, yet he, washed the feet, of his disciples. We must, never be so proud, that we cannot, be a servant to another. It was the duty, of the servant in the home, wherever, they were, in those days, to wash the dust off, of each persons’ feet, who entered the house. Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, took the place, of that servant, to serve all, which was, his role in coming to earth.

Simon, was a good example, of people using, their reasoning skills and desires, instead of GOD’s word, when something needs, to be done.

Poor old Simon, first to answer, trying to be the head, of his class. He tried to guide, the events by his worldly understanding. Simon thought, he had Jesus' best interest, at heart, based on Simon’s desires, and reasoning, so unfortunately, he did not abide, by the words, that Jesus, spoke. Today, we have many Christians, with good intentions, but, as with poor old Simon, they intentions, are not backed up, by GOD's word.

The good news is, that if we keep listening to the word of GOD we, will find the correct, action and path to take.

A. Jesus takes a servant's mantle 1-17
B. Not everyone is a true disciple 18-30
C. How should a disciple show love? 31-35
D. Quite often, A true disciple will fail. 36-38
May GOD through His son Jesus our savior, bless you with His grace and peace multiplied.
