Matthew 19. "I Surrender All" Sunday October 8th, 2017 We must examine our life and determine what part of our life, is not covered by our daily prayers, and that we have not given over to GOD? What part, of our life, or our earthly possessions, that we, really are so fond of, that it would destroy us, if we were to lose them? This a very tough question, if we are living for GOD through his son Jesus, we must not attach emotional sentiment to anything that the love of GOD cannot fill in our life. We find many divorces that are very nasty, where people are trying to upstage the other. Instead, each person should be trying to be fair and look out for the other. Does not mean that we should be the door mat. But we should not be so attached to an item like a picture, a piece of furniture, a pet, etc., that we figure our life is over if we do not get it. We should be praying for the marriage to last, and if it does not, we need to be praying for the other to follow GOD. How can we accomplish surrendering all to Jesus? By simple childlike faith, that GOD will provide, the things that we really need. Jesus tells us "for of such is the Kingdom of heaven." Matt 6:33 tells us to "Seek ye first the kingdom of GOD and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you." This is the promise from Jesus, which should enable us to not treasure anything here on earth above the love of GOD. Jesus tells us Matt 19:29; 29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. Does not mean we have to be poor, or without family, means we have to be good stewards with our money, and not let our possessions, friends, or family keep us away from GOD. If we stay the course, "for great is our reward in heaven". A. Divorce is a very serious action to take. 1-12 B. Suffer little Children, for of such is the kingdom of GOD 13-15 C. Let us honor Christ over our riches. 16- 26 D. Those who put Christ first, will receive a greater reward in heaven. 27-30. May GOD through His son Jesus bless you with His grace and peace multiplied.
