Matt 15.   "Love, not Tradition” Sunday, September 10, 2017, 11am
The Pharisees thought that they could go through certain rituals and please GOD.
They were proud of their rituals and thought that everyone had to do them or they would not please GOD.
But Jesus said our actions should be done only with love from the heart.
Mic 6:7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Today a lot of churches do the same thing, they think because they have a certain service, they are more Christian than others. Services should be done with love from the heart, to please the Lord and not to judge other churches. I have people come up to me and say my church had a special service, how come your church does not do the same?
It is not the number of services we have, but how we come with love in our heart each time to worship the Lord. We must pray before each service for the Lord to fill our heart with love for the Lord.
Offended seems to be the catch word of the day. When someone says they are offended, they think that we must never say or do that again.
Now we have billboards telling us to do good, but skip church. They think that by telling people to do good is making them look good, when in fact they are doing evil. Now I am sure they would be offended to hear that what they are doing is evil when they said do good.
Luke 7:23 Jesus said "And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me."
But the glowing embers, that keeps our hearts, glowing and true to Jesus, is his sacrifice on the cross, that we might have eternal life.
