Psalm48.  “Holy City”  Wednesday March 29, 2017, 7pm
Now I must admit that I interpret most scripture as looking to the future and I seem to stand alone in this Psalm 48. When the psalmist talks about the holy city and the holy mountain, I interpret the psalmist is talking about New Jerusalem.
Psalm 48: 1    Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness Psalm 48:8 8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever.
(Re 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.   Re 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
The city of the great King shall result in a beautiful situation.
Psalm 48: 2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.  (  Isa 65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.  (Can the Psalmist be talking about any other time than when Jesus comes again? )
(Even Abraham looked for the great city built by GOD. Hebrews 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.)
The Lord to be greatly praised in his Holy Mountain housing the Holy City 1-3.
The battle with the wicked kings and their followers is overcome. 4-7,
The Holy City will be established by GOD forever. 8
Thy loving kindness has been preached in thy church. 9—11
Tell of thy great blessings to the next generation. 12-14
GOD bless you with His grace and peace multiplied
