1 Peter 1 “Taking hold of Hope” Sunday December 4, 2016 11am
Are we without hope? Come with us as we study GOD’s word to introduce you to lively and living hope. If you have hope, come with us to study GOD’s word to find ways to keep that hope lively and strong.
This time of year, more than any other, our hope is put to the test, short days, holiday depression, missing loved ones, and many other ways that negative emotions bring depression upon us. But come with as we walk through the scriptures to tackle ways to uplift our hope forever.
We must hold onto the fact that our Hope is a living hope through Jesus the Christ who died that we might live again. Jesus is our living hope in that GOD raised him from the dead and he is preparing a place for us and a glorious praising time in heaven. GOD’s word to us is to stand strong:
1 Peter 1: 13Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
Commanded by the scriptures, let us march bravely by the power of the Holy Spirit into battle against the negative emotions drilled into us by spirit of antichrist that is so strong in this world. Sober, calmness about us, this means to not let our negative emotions control us, but to follow the word as we battle against negative emotions. Negative emotions are everywhere, so let us fill up our heart with the hope that never shall die.
Powered by the Holy Spirit, let us stand strong against negative emotions and never fall away from GOD=s living hope and love until he comes again. The Bible tells us; We must comfort each other with GOD=s word. GOD’s inspiring word in Isaiah 40:31 tells us what a glorious time of joy, we have waiting for us:
31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Come with us take hold of that lively, living hope.
GOD bless you with his grace and peace!!
We have a lively hope, Jesus Christ lives (1:1-6).
Great troubles, should not cause us to fall away from GOD (1:6-9).
The prophets predicted this hope, they did not understand. (1:10-12)
Scripture commands us, to be strong in hope of the Lord(1:13-17)
Redeemed by the precious blood of Christ. 18-22
All will die, but the word of the Lord endureth forever. 24-25.
